  1. How can I register for classes ?

    You can register for our classes through the automation system during the class selection week.

  2. Are there any prerequisites for attending classes ?

    No, there are no prerequisites for enrolling in our classes.

  3. I am a preparatory student. Can I take elective language courses ?

    Preparatory class students are not eligible to take our courses.

  4. How many courses do elective foreign language courses consist of ?

    Our courses consist of a total of 6 courses (101-102, 201-202, 301-302).

  5. What are the level equivalents of the courses in the credit system according to the European Language Criteria ?

  6. Are all level courses opened in each semester ?

    Depending on student demand and course availability, courses can theoretically be offered at every level each semester. In particular, the first three courses (101/102/201) are offered every semester, and advanced courses are offered in subsequent semesters as a continuation.

  7. Can I attend more than one course in one semester?

    Yes, you can take more than one course if your time-table and graduation requirements allow it.

  8. I don't know the language at all. What level should I start with ?

    Our 101 beginner courses are designed for those who don't know the language at all.

  9. I learned this language during my previous education (primary school, secondary school, high school) and have some basic knowledge. Which course should I apply for ?

    You should contact the instructor teaching the course to ensure that you choose the course that is appropriate for your level.

  10. Is there a placement test ?

    No, we do not conduct placement tests.

  11. Is attendance mandatory ?

    Yes, we have a 70% attendance requirement for our classes.

  12. What are the requirements for passing the course ?

    Attendance requirements must be met and the average grade must be 50 or above.

  13. The quotas are full, and I cannot register. Can I attend the course as a guest student ?

    Guest student status is only granted to master's and doctoral students.

  14. How can I find detailed information about the course I want to take ?

  15. I want to apply for Erasmus, which course should I choose ?

    To apply for Erasmus, you must have completed at least A2 level, i.e. successfully completed 202 courses.

  16. Can I obtain a language certificate for Erasmus at the end of the semester ?

    As the School of Foreign Languages, we do not have the authority to issue language certificates. The courses taken are included in the transcript. This is sufficient for Erasmus.

  17. I am a student who has not taken the required course at ITU to go on Erasmus. Can I obtain a certificate to go on Erasmus in exchange for a Level Assessment Test that you will administer ?

    We don’t have such a practice in our department.
