Italian is a language of art, culture, and innovation, and learning it opens doors to a wide range of opportunities:

·       Cultural richness: Italian is the language of art, fashion, cinema, design, music, and cuisine. According to UNESCO, Italy hosts the largest number of cultural heritage sites in the world.

·       Language advantage: Knowing Italian makes learning other Romance languages easier. Italian is also recognized as one of the most beautiful languages in the world.

·       Professional and academic opportunities: Italy is home to top technical universities such as Politecnico di Milano and Politecnico di Torino, and its high-quality products, under the “Made in Italy” brand, are known worldwide. Italy and Turkey have long-standing business relations, providing excellent career opportunities in both countries.

·       Music and arts: Music “speaks Italian.” Opera singers and musicians worldwide study Italian.

·

“Italians say that someone who acquires a new language ‘possesses’ it. In my case, Italian possesses me. With Italian racing like blood through my veins, I do indeed see with different eyes, hear with different ears, and drink in the world with all my senses…” From Diane Hales “La bella lingua, my love affair with Italian, the world’s most enchanting language”.

The Italian Language Department at the ITÜ School of Foreign Languages offers elective, credit-bearing courses open to all faculty students (except those enrolled in preparatory classes).

Our program starts at the beginner level and gradually advances to upper-intermediate level. Courses are conducted in groups of 20–25 students, ensuring an interactive and engaging learning environment.

The curriculum consists of six progressive modules designed to develop solid language skills for both everyday communication and professional use.

All courses are designed to help students achieve proficiency in Italian and successfully prepare for the internationally recognized Italian language certification exam CILS (Certificazione di Italiano come Lingua Straniera) , fully aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Registrations are made through the Registrar’s Office.
