The Department of Spanish as a Foreign Language at Istanbul Technical University is committed to teaching Spanish from a comprehensive perspective. Our goal is to train students to communicate fluently, develop mediation skills, and to cultivate a global and intercultural outlook.

We have a teaching team specialized in Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE), with international experience and training in applied linguistics, language teaching, and cultural studies.

Our Courses

We offer general Spanish courses (A1–B1) designed in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), ensuring standardized learning outcomes that are internationally recognized.

✨ In addition, our courses enable students to acquire the knowledge needed to successfully pass official international certification exams (DELE and SIELE) as well as the national exam (e-YDS).

Methodology

Our teaching is based on a communicative approach that places the student at the centre of the learning process. We combine:

·       Dynamic, interactive classes.

·       The use of technologies and digital resources.

·       Practical activities for spoken and written expression.

·       An emphasis on mediation and intercultural competence.

Cultural Activities

Learning Spanish in our department also means experiencing the culture. We offer:

·       Cultural workshops: practical spaces dedicated to the cinema, literature, music, and gastronomy of Spanish-speaking countries.
